eecp benefits for diabetics and athletes

Postby mammoth3128 » Fri Mar 13, 2009 3:35 pm

Hello, I completed 36 eecp sessions a year ago. I now have started a once every two week session. I am a type 2 diabetic due to a major shock to my pancreas approx 7 years ago. I work out 1 to 2 hours each day, ski and play tennis reguarly. The three primary areas that I have significant results were in my work out heart rate after serious cardio exercise, 130 in the past now never above 100 to 110. HDL cholesterol was usually in the mid 30 range, but is now consistently 50+. Overall 145 with a ratio of 3. My exercise energy level is amazing. My AC1 is 5.9 to 6.0 and daily glucose is 90 to 120. I am 61 6'1 200 to 205 lbs. I cannot attribute all this to eecp but I am confident that has made a major impact on my overall well being especially in dealing with diabetic neuropathy in my feet! My blood pressure has also improved although this has never been a problem. My treadmill exam has never shown any issues.

I would highly recommend eecp to anyone that wants to improve their blood flow to their extremeties, gain more energy and feel better overall. All this while listening to your favorite music. Unfortunately insurance does not cover this for general maintenance but now am receiving my 1 hour treatments for $40.00.

mammoth3128, how did your blood creatinine and BUN change - from what to what? Thanks! I'm really surprised by the HDL, I've tried everything under the sun (except EECP) to get my HDL over 40. I'm curious about the creatinine, because I'm right at the upper border of "normal".

exercise is still the key as well as diet. I eat a lot of BRAN daily. I also got into vitamins and minerals based upon my blood levels. My HDL increase was affected by all of the above as well as keeping my glucose well under control. I have now completed close to 44 eecp treatments, go once or twice per month.

Wondering where you live and where you are doing EECP on a kind of per diem basis?
Thanks!
